The D. Arch course is spread over a period of three years and is divided into six semesters. It is approved by the Council of Architecture and recognized by MSBTE. The curriculum is based on the National Education Policy 2020, aiming to develop the social, physical, intellectual, emotional, and moral capacities of human beings in an integrated manner.
The first year focuses on creating a foundation for the students by covering subjects like mathematics, science, communication skills, graphical skills, designing basics, history of architecture, and construction materials. In addition to these subjects, social and life skills, as well as yoga and meditation, are included for holistic development.
The second year emphasizes technical aspects along with advancing core design skills. Technical subjects such as surveying, building services, building construction, and the theory of structures are included. Additionally, the computer-aided drawing course keeps students technologically updated. The syllabus provides basic information about the Constitution of India in Semester 3. Semester 4 offers students a wider range of options to choose from various peripheral architecture subjects such as landscape, housing, and disaster management.
The curriculum for the third year is currently under development and will be created based on guidelines received from the Council of Architecture by the MSBTE syllabus framing committee.
