The three-year Diploma in Architecture (D.Arch), approved by the Council of Architecture (COA) and recognized by MSBTE, offers a comprehensive and industry-oriented approach to architectural education, aligned with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The program is structured across six semesters and focuses on developing the social, intellectual, physical, emotional, and creative abilities of students in an integrated and progressive manner.
The first year lays a strong foundation by introducing essential subjects such as mathematics, science, communication skills, graphical communication, design fundamentals, history of architecture, and construction materials. Students are also encouraged to build confidence and self-awareness through modules on yoga, meditation, and life skills.
The second year deepens technical knowledge with surveying, building construction, building services, and the theory of structures, while also enhancing digital proficiency through computer-aided drafting. Students are introduced to constitutional values in Semester 3 and, in Semester 4, explore elective areas such as landscape, housing, and disaster management, enabling them to gain broader perspectives within the field of architecture.
The final year focuses on professional preparedness, combining advanced design studios with subjects like working drawings, estimating and costing, and contracts and project management. Students also participate in seminars, practical training, and a capstone project that provides hands-on experience and exposure to real architectural challenges. By the end of the program, learners emerge with strong design skills, sound technical understanding, and a professional outlook, making them well-equipped to pursue careers in architectural practice, construction industries, interior design, and allied fields.
