Parvez Shaikh is an Interior Designer based in Mumbai. Presently, he is associated with UA Designs as a Senior Designer and Rizvi College of Architecture, Mumbai as an Assistant Professor. He has been a visiting faculty at reputed institutes such as Rachna Sansad, LS Raheja, Aditya College of Architecture, MS Saboo Siddik, Kala Vidya Sankul Polytechnic College and INIFT across Mumbai. Parvez has an experience of over twelve years in the domain of interior design and academics. He specialises in the domain of residential and commercial projects and excels in furniture design and model making. In the past, he has successfully held specialised workshops in the allied disciplines of design. He has received his education from M.H Saboo Siddik Polytechnic College under the aegis of Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai securing a diploma in Interior Design in the year 2011. Parvez has designed projects pan India spanning across retail spaces, corporate sector with a client driven approach towards his projects. Details of modular spaces and multifunctional spaces have intrigued him as a designer and helped him develop his holistic vision in academics and professional field.

Pedagogy

Parvez’s pedagogical beliefs stems from his experience and his ability to visualise the detailed interventions in a design programme. Interactive studios and practical approaches in the domain and academia helps him foster the narrative. His speciality in the allied subjects like developing visual skills, graphics and technical disciplines have also been developed into successful workshops in architectural and interior design studios. He believes that conceptual understanding and gaining sound skillsets are the necessary foundations needed in the academic life of a student.
