Ankita Hattangadi

About

Ankita Hattangadi is a Mumbai-based urban designer, architect, and researcher. She graduated from Rizvi College of Architecture in 2020 and went on to pursue her passion for Architecture and Urban Design through the interdisciplinary Master in Science of Urban Design course at Pratt Institute in the United States (2022).

Her work is influenced by her involvement in design, research, and academia. During her Master’s program, she was awarded a scholarship and worked as a research fellow at the Institute for Public Architecture in New York. Pratt Institute (Pratt SoA) has also published her Master’s dissertation, Reclaiming Low Grounds in Brooklyn. Her research-based Speculative model on Urban Toxicity was also merged with significant research conducted by the Pratt Ecological Department for the Architectural Humanities Research Association (AHRA) conference in the United States.

Ankita interned and then worked as a junior architect at Matte Black Architects in Mumbai. She has worked on a variety of interior design, architectural villa design, and architectural photography projects. Her works and interests include computational processes, Urban research and design through cultural and material studies, as well as technological and artificial intelligence possibilities. Her educational focus attempts to include objective methods of analysis into the creative process of design.
