Student's Design competition

Design Competition:

What is knowledge? As per definition – knowledge is a culmination of facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. This source of knowledge is infinite and is very child’s inheritance by birth. But how many of them are really privileged enough to receive the same. Many good talents don’t get an opportunity to shine due to lack of a platform for them to learn, play & excel.

In recent times, with the development of digital technology, all our source of learning has been restricted to the cyberspace and which is available at the click of a button. And also, for those who have access to this kind of learning – the instant availability of data has alienated them from the idea of learning by doing. Such dependence on technology has led to selective learning and the joy of discovering something new while experiencing it is becoming rare.

There is a need to develop a learning facility focused on hands-on learning. The facility that provides free access to kids to learn & play. A facility that can be made available in every neighborhood in urban & rural India. A facility that not only encourages & inspires kids eager to learn but also is inviting for kids who desist the conventional ways of learning.

Design Competition:

Can you design a facility that encourages learning?

APIC-2020 invites undergraduate students of architecture and postgraduate students of relevant faculty to participate in a design competition to develop a facility that encourages learning. A learning place but not a conventional school. Design a facility that provides free learning for kids aged up to 15 years. A facility that can be made available in every neighborhood, every street, every corner of your city/village/town. If the kids are unable to reach the facility, then the facility could reach them.
